Creative Minds and Critical Thinking Week 4 DQ
Considering Nelson Mandela, he had awesome qualities that made him stand out as one of the most influential leaders in the world. He had an aspect of patience while dealing with his issues. As much as his negotiation efforts did not turn out as immediate as expected, he was influential in making sure that apartheid rule was stamped out of South Africa. He was also humble, and a keen listener, factors that are essential for every leader. At the end he was able to help people of South Africa get equal treatment.
After studying Albert Einstein, I discovered that he used a step by step approach. He spent more time in defining a problem before rushing into decisions and solutions. He is quoted as saying, if he had one hour to save the world he would spend fifty-five minutes defining the problem and only five minutes finding the solution (Karsh, 2012). I think this approach meets he test of logic, where a keen analysis leads one to a final conclusion about a specific issue. It is also important to note that with this approach, one is likely to come up with some options for his/her issue.
The process that I chose in discussing as far as the process by which famous thinkers took action to solve their specific issue is concerned is Einstein’s way of solving problem solving technique. He used the approach of not jumping into solving a problem or an issue without properly investing adequate time and efforts. This is important in helping one to develop substantial knowledge about the issue at hand. The most fundamental thing to always consider is to first define a problem or an issue. It is important spending adequate time to define a problem, and solutions will come automatically.
