Being a healthcare economists, there are several methods that I can use in collecting the necessary data I need. The methodology I settle on using depends on the type of data that I will be collecting. Some of the ways in which I can be able to collect will include observations, interviews or examination of available documents. The type of data that I will be seeking to collect by using this method will be trends that happened in the past, which will be beneficial in determining the ones that might happen in future. Documents to be studied will include notes, memos, letters, manuscripts and many others that have essential information on healthcare. It is also important to note that information provided in the documents can also be some evidence on the data that was collected in interviews and observations (Folland, Goodman & Stano, 2013). Another method of collecting data can also be through observation. This will be majorly through direct interaction with the target persons or groups. Basing on the fact that qualitative research being naturalism, it is essential for the researcher to observe the focus groups in their natural state, where they are less disturbed. The last method of collecting data is the interview method. This will involve asking the subject questions and getting answers from them verbally. Mostly the type of information that one seeks to find is personal information. It is also important to have this type of information in healthcare. The data collected from the above method is important to many stakeholders. For instance, the stakeholders need the data to make sure that they have the correct plans in place. This involves making sure that they have the right tools and equipments in place, basing on the type of information that they will have collected from the patients. The data collected is also important for the management in making plans regarding acquisition and other activities that might require funding, or financing. It makes sure that the management has the right strategies in place.
