Personally I think that overview of a marketing opportunity can be challenging when it comes to an element of a marketing plan that is hard to implement. This involves carrying out a research on the target market. This will involve not only the target audience but also the locality of the business. it is also a challenge because as a marketers, it calls for one to be accurate in collecting data regarding consumer behavior. One needs to understand the buying behavior, which might involve the type of goods that these people buy, and how often do they buy them. Such information is vital for companies to make decisions basing on the research feedback. It cannot dare trade in those areas that people don’t buy quite often, as well as those areas that people don’t like the product. In regard to the marketing locality, it can be challenging to have the exact data regarding the size of the market. This is because of mobilization of people (Morin, 2012). This might affect the projections as well as goals of the marketing activity.
It is also important to consider the resources available to conduct the activity. This will involve considering the aspect of infrastructure especially in the transport and communication sector. This calls for acquisition of equipment necessary for conducting research activities, a factor that might just strain the budget if the budget of the company. Without enough funds, then it can be very challenging for the company to have a good plan as far as marketing environment is concerned (Morin, 2012). I think this issue can be faced by many marketers especially those that are working on introducing a new product in the marketing environment.
I believe that marketing plans in the businesses in the United States are effective in the sense that they have helped many businesses, both small and large to succeed, as far as their investment is concerned. One of the ways in which the plans have been effective is by providing a guide. This has been utilized by businesses in identifying a way in which they can be able to conduct their processes and strategies so that they can be able to achieve their desired goals. By providing a guide, the businesses have also been able to follow a step after another step in implementation of its strategic plan. Marketing plans have also been beneficial in integrating the business.  this is in the case where planning has involved more than one marketing manager. A marketing plan in businesses plays the role through which several aspects of the business are integrated to perform a one special function. This can range from several plans and services in terms of pricing and other essentials of marketing (Kristie, 2011). With a marketing plan, businesses have been able to analyze their progress in business.
Other important aspects of a business plan that have played a key role in businesses in the US including forecasting; where companies identify what to expect in marketing can be analyzed. Also the company identifies what it needs to implement in its system, for the business to be successful. It s also important to note that a marketing plan helps businesses to compare it products and services to those of other companies, placing it in  a better position to know  what to add in its entire system for it  to gain  a competitive advantage (Kristie, 2011). The company is also aware of what to do in regard to pricing and other strategy implementation. These are some of the ways in which marketing plans have been effective in the US.
